Sergio Garcia’s Ryder Cup points equal the entire US Team’s

According to the above-mentioned tweet, Sergio Garcia has 25.5 Ryder Cup points, and Team USA players combined have 25.5 points. While it does indicate that Garcia has been around for a long time and has played nine Ryder Cup tournaments, Twitter users do not think the stat meant much. Many have US fans have faith in the younger generation, agreeing that maybe this change will be good for the team.

Other users wrote that they believe rookies should just play, not worrying about anything else. However, some fans continue to believe that despite all the talent in team USA, Europe’s experience will put them in a better position.

Garcia, who has won 62 percent of his matches, has accumulated 25.5 points in Ryder Cup history. According to reports, Garcia is now only two wins away from breaking Nick Faldo’s existing Ryder Cup record.

“Being the highest points scorer in Ryder Cup history, that was never my goal,” Garcia said. “It’s something that I never thought about because I was always focused on winning the Ryder Cup as a team. I never thought, ‘Oh, even if we lose, if I win 3 or 3 1/2 points, I had a great Ryder Cup.’ No, that doesn’t do it for me”.

He added that if they do not win a Ryder Cup, it is not a good Ryder Cup.
