After the rumors of him joining the LIV Golf started in the tailing part of 2023, Adrian Meronk quickly denied them altogether. The Polish golfer acquired his PGA Tour card in 2023 via his 4th position on the DP World Tour Race to Dubai rankings.

This is the official year of Meronk on the PGA Tour and he recently played his first tournament of 2024 at The Sentry. Last week, he was second in the Dubai Desert Classic. The 4x DP World Tour winner was said to play the Farmers Insurance Open but had withdrawn only 8 hours before.

The sudden withdrawal comes right after The Times claimed that Meronk is set to join the Cleeks GC before the 2024 season starts in February in Mayakoba. Although Meronk had given his illness as the reason for his withdrawal. However, NUCLR Golf reported on X that Meronk, who denied the rumors back in December with the Instagram post shared, was now ready to join the league just a month later.

The defection has angered the golf world. It also seems to annoy some as the pro claims to disregard the rumors just to join the league right after.

The news of Meronk joining LIV Golf has disheartened many. This user called the defection of the Polish golfer “no loss” and ranked him lower than Pat Perez. They also stated that golfers like Nick Dunlap will be replacing the likes of Meronk and will be playing on the “Tour of Real Golf.”

Although Meronks LIV Golf rumors are just assumptions as of now, one user has pointed fingers at his character. They called him immoral for his unconfirmed choices.

Most golfers who joined the PIF-backed league reasoned that they did not particularly join it for money. This user took an indirect hit on those and wondered if Meronk would be the same.

Another user seemed to be nonchalant about Meronk’s rumored defection. They said that his leaving the Tour would not be missed.

This fan was a bit harsh towards Meronk. They assumed that he had gone for the lucrative deal and called Meronk a “sellout hypocrite” as he had denied the rumors before but was still joining the breakaway league.
