Ever since LIV Golf’s initiation, the golf world has seen many changes. One such change is the integration of the concept of teams into a dynamic game played individually. The LIV Golf captains have adequate control over the matter of selecting teams.

However, the control given to them is not arbitrary by any means. There is an adequate system of checks and balances imposed by the PIF-backed League in matters of personnel. Giving his input on the matter of the degree of control possessed by LIV golfers, Bubba Watson said, “I have as much control as I want. Obviously, the league is part of every team. So they’re going to have board members as well.”

Explaining the role of the board and the skipper’s say in the team selection, Watson said, “So there’s a board that runs the whole team to make sure that we’re not making a dumb decision, right?… So I have a lot of control, but then there are obviously checks and balances to make sure I’m not losing my mind too bad.”

The RangeGoats GC captain is a key source for accruing this information because of his crucial involvement in the big trade. In a recent podcast by Fore Play, the famous LIV pro revealed why there is a congregation between the board members and other stakeholders to make such big decisions while safeguarding the role of the LIV Golf team captains.
