The third round of the aforesaid championship was cancelled due to an unplayable hole. Sounds bizarre, right? What’s even more weird  is that 60% of the field size had already finished their play when the cancellation happened.

The hole being discussed is the 308-yard, par-4 sixth at Mission Inn and Resort’s El Campeon Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The hole had been cut on a 5-percent slope on the right side of the green. During the later part of the day, course staff watered the putting surface in an attempt to soften the severity of the slope.
