A caddie is always a golfer’s silent partner. Despite being the strongest support pillar, they do not even get recognized with the winner’s credit, and forget about getting medals. Golf itself was introduced to the Olympic schedule back in 2016, and even though there have been a lot of discussions, they are still not rewarded with medals. But Scottie Scheffler’s caddie has something to rejoice in. Things might have changed after Xander Schauffele’s win back in the 2020 Olympics.

After he won the gold, Schauffele gifted his caddie, a custom-made gold ring engraved with the word “Tokyo”. It was placed on the outer right side the flag of the U.S.A. above the Olympic rings in the center, and the words United States at the top and Olympic Team at the bottom.

Flaunting it on his Instagram account, Xander Schauffele’s long-term sidekick wrote, “They knew it meant a lot to me, too. I didn’t get my medal and they wanted to do something special for me.”

Now that Ted Scott will receive a golden ring from Scottie Scheffler, what is the World No. 1 entitled to take home after lifting the prestigious trophy and grabbing a victory for his country in Paris this year?

Although there are no official prize money payouts given to the golfers except for the gold, silver, and bronze medals, the national Olympic federations offer financial paydays to their country’s athletes when they bring home the medal.
