Scottie Scheffler’s Christmas took an unexpected turn when he accidentally punctured his right hand with broken glass. All while making ravioli. After undergoing surgery to remove the glass fragments, he was initially expected to be back on the course in 3-4 weeks. However, that recovery timeline got extended, forcing him to miss Sentry and the American Express. It’s been a setback, but Scheffler is now focused on getting back to his stellar form.

He came back to the greens, earlier this month at Pebble Beach. He finished with a T9 there, followed by a T25 at the WM Phoenix Open. This left the fans disappointed, him too, since at WMPO, he was seen frustrated. Looking ahead to the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines, Scheffler is gearing up. He even made slight changes to his bag to ensure that this week was a bang.

Here is what the World No. 1 is using at Torrey Pines.

Scottie Scheffler’s new addition to the bag

Scottie Scheffler might be on the top being the best golfer, but his driving accuracy still has space for progress. However, he still ranks 82 on the list with an accuracy of 58.93%. Not what you would expect from the best golfer in the world, right? But he has been able to achieve this with the TaylorMade Qi10 Driver (8-degree loft). Priced at $499.99, these help in reducing speed and making the distance game better.

Until this week, Scottie Scheffler was using the TaylorMade Qi10 in a 15-degree loft. But he has made a slight change. The rough at Torrey Pines is thick this week, made even denser by Wednesday’s rainfall, prompting some PGA Tour players to add higher-lofted fairway woods to their bags. Clubs like 5-, 7-, and 9-woods are great for launching the ball higher, thanks to their lower centers of gravity and increased head mass compared to long irons. While Scottie Scheffler typically sticks to a 3-wood, he’s mixing things up this week. After a suggestion from his caddie, Ted Scott, Scheffler is giving 5-woods and even 7-woods a test run to navigate the tough conditions. These are priced at $449.99.

For the irons, he opts for the Srixon Z U85, which he uses with the UST Recoil 95 shaft. These have light and a hollow body, which will help the American profession with higher shots, that too without much effort. These are currently priced at $99.97 on the official website. He also has the premium version of the TaylorMade P-7MC for the irons. Priced at a whopping $1,999.99, these give out exceptional high workability to ensure a smooth game on the course.

Scottie Scheffler has a better game on the greens as compared to his long-distance shots. But what does he use to excel in them?

Scottie Scheffler’s companions for the greens

Scottie Scheffler’s wedge shots are known for their precision, consistently striking the center of the face to minimize any dispersion issues. This week, he’ll be using the Titleist Vokey SM8 and Titleist Vokey Design SM8 wedges, with the latter priced at $199.99. Well, his wedges have helped him achieve a great feat. It is using this that he ranks 4th on the Approach to the Green standings.
