Nike's gesture to Scheffler's son—Is this the coolest thing a sports brand has ever done?

Scottie Scheffler and Meredith Scheffler have shared many journeys together—from meeting in high school hallways, being college sweethearts, partners, and eventually husband and wife, to now, most importantly, becoming parents. The couple met in 2013 when they were freshmen at Highland Park High School. However, they didn’t start dating until their senior year in 2014. After almost four years of being in a long-distance relationship, the Dallas natives decided to embark on a new chapter together.

The World No. 1 proposed during a hiking trip at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Texas. They were married on December 4, 2020. After almost four years of marriage, the couple welcomed their first child on May 8, 2024. Now, given that Scheffler is one of the top golfers in modern golf, it’s no surprise that baby Bennett will receive several perks from his father’s fame. As baby Bennett Scheffler approaches his fourth month, he awaits a big surprise.

Nike has been Scottie Scheffler’s official apparel partner for a long time, and their endorsement is now more than just a professional contract. The World No. 1 took to his official Instagram account and shared a story featuring a picture of a pair of Nike baby shoes. They were white with green stripes, and one had Bennett’s date of birth written on it, while the other had “Baby Bennett” written on it. Scheffler tagged Nike in the story and wrote, “Bennett is officially cooler than me.”

From receiving gifts to traveling the world before even turning a year old, Bennett Scheffler is indeed a lucky child. To think of it, he had even visited the City of Love before he was two months old.

The 2024 Paris Olympics was a family affair for the Schefflers. Unlike the other golfers, Scottie Scheffler rented a hotel away from the venue to enjoy some family time in Paris. A day before his golf tournament, the 28-year-old posted pictures of himself exploring the City of Love with the people he loves most—Meredith and Bennett.

“Made it to Paris & Bennett loved the Louvre 😂 #parisolympics,” he wrote in the Instagram post. The trio was also spotted at the gymnastics event, watching the American women’s team take home the trophy. Baby Bennett looked adorable sitting on Scheffler’s lap, wearing a Team USA jersey.
