Tiger Woods is a name that’ll echo in the golf world for generations. No doubt, he’s a legend, but when it comes to carrying forward his legacy, all eyes are on his kids—especially Charlie Woods, who’s already making waves in junior golf. But what about his daughter, Sam?
You’ve probably seen her around—cheering her dad on from the sidelines or even caddying for him. But Sam is not a golfer. She is a soccer player. That’s right, she’s out there representing Benjamin High School’s Varsity Girls’ Soccer team as part of the Benjamin Buccaneers.
Sam’s stepping into the new season with fresh challenges, as the Buccaneers gear up to go head-to-head against King’s Academy. But she isn’t just focusing on soccer. Back in August 2024, Sam decided to expand her sporting pursuits and get into track and field. Instead of leaving soccer behind, she’s going all in as a dual-sport athlete at Benjamin High.

And for context, she’s been absolutely killing it. She was named Player of the Year by the Palm Beach Post in Track and Field Junior. Not only did she help the Buccaneers on the soccer field, but Sam Woods also played a key role in her school’s third-place finish in the 4×400 relay (clocking an impressive 3:59.95). And in the 400m hurdles, she earned a personal best of 1:05.84, finishing seventh. She also notched top-five finishes in district meets, including two district championship wins.
While she’s proving her versatility in sports, Sam’s soccer career continues to thrive. Across 55 games, she’s scored 8 goals and provided 12 assists. So far in the 2024-2025 season, she’s played in 8 games, notching 1 goal and 1 assist. With a whole season ahead, it’ll be exciting to see what she does next.
And what about her future? During the 2024 PNC Championship, broadcaster Dan Hicks dropped a major hint, saying that “Tiger Woods’ daughter Sam, who is caddying for him this week, will be attending Stanford University next year.”
However, neither Sam Woods nor her family have publicly confirmed this just yet. Since Stanford’s Regular Decision deadline was January 5, and decisions usually come out in April, it’s possible that things aren’t finalized. So, for now, it’s a wait-and-see situation.

Meanwhile, her brother Charlie is working hard to make his mark in the junior golf world, with the competition only getting tougher.
What is Charlie Woods up to?
While Charlie Woods’s rival Blades Brown has already made his debut in the PGA Tour circuit, Woods‘s son is still trying to prove himself in the golf world. His last appearance was at the 2024 PNC Championship, where he teamed up with his dad. The father-son duo came this close to winning, but in a thrilling playoff against Bernhard Langer and his son Jason, they just couldn’t take home the trophy.

Charlie certainly didn’t disappoint, though. He delivered an incredible hole-in-one on the 175-yard par-three fourth hole, which had the crowd buzzing. But despite the excitement, the victory slipped away in the playoff. It was a tough loss, and you can bet that one still stings for Team Woods.
But don’t worry—Charlie’s not slowing down anytime soon. He’s ready for a comeback at the 10th annual Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship, scheduled for February 28 to March 2 at TPC Myrtle Beach. This tournament is going to be a big one, with 31 of the best junior golfers from around the country competing. With Charlie’s name in the mix, he’s bound to be one of the top attractions. After all, with his famous father and his own growing talent, people are eager to see what he can do. The tournament has a history of launching the careers of future golf stars, so who knows? This could be the perfect chance for Charlie to make his next big move.
