Sahith Theegala was only six strokes behind from getting the biggest victory of his career at the East Lake Golf Club. Although the 1-time PGA Tour winner started with only an under-stroke advantage, Theegala excelled and came closer to Scottie Scheffler, who had a 10-stroke staggered start.

Despite the challenges, the 26-year-old finished third on the leaderboard and amassed a whopping $7.5 million from the total $100 million prize purse. Interestingly, Theegala could have achieved a bigger check, as big as $12.5 million, but since he self-reported an infraction, he suffered a two-stroke penalty and lost the $5 million. His girlfriend, Juju, argued that he would not have gotten the penalty if he didn’t talk about it but she loves a man of high integrity, and well, so do we! Surprisingly, she had one more complaint from her boyfriend but this one was after the tournament ended.

Chan posted a TikTok and teased Theegala about their airplane seatings. She joked that even though the 1-time PGA Tour winner won $7.5 million in payout, they were not flying out from Atlanta in a private jet. Taking a jibe at him, she captioned, “He is being financially responsible or whatever.” 

After her funny complaint was posted, it quickly went viral in the golf world, and the fans were wishing her and Theegala well, while many also predicted why he could have been saving the money.

The 2024 season was a learning curve for Sahith Theegala. The 26-year-old was in the top 10s eight times and was close to winning two more titles, The Sentry and RBC Heritage, but wound up the events as a runner-up. Nonetheless, Theegala has been consistent in his form and has shown excellent performance throughout, except for a few hiccups along the way.

Thus, this user overlooked his 3rd finish at the TOUR Championship and commented, “It was so awesome following the journey and seeing his amazing season. Last year, Theegala was featured on the Netflix documentary Full Swing. In episode seven, his story of becoming a pro was covered. Although he did not star in season 2, the Sport Journal Business reported that season 3 of Full Swing would be streamed in 2025, and hopefully, Theegala would be back in it.
