Along with its emergence, LIV golf brought with it tons of controversies. From bans from playing on the PGA Tour to bans from international events, the defectors faced many dire consequences for leaving their previous Tour. And among them, the hottest topic of discussion lately is the Ryder Cup dilemma. Discussion about the players who jumped ship playing at the event has been going on for a while now, and as the date of the final verdict draws closer, a LIV Golf defector and 7-time Ryder Cup player dished out some harsh words for the Tour.
LIV Golf defector lashes out at the DP World Tour
Ian Poulter, who until his defection was a sure-shot future Ryder Cup captain, recently took to Instagram to talk about the matter. “If the DP World Tour chose to not have any LIV golfer as captain after they have supported them and still do for over 25 years then shame on them,” he wrote on his story. “Sad but that’s on them.”

The Englishman was certainly tired and frustrated about the long-held debate. But despite that, he was hopeful that things would get better. “Time will tell, and once all the info is out things will change I’m sure,” he added, determined that eventually, LIV would win hearts over!

The 3-time PGA Tour winner has been a strong voice for the breakaway tour about all things Ryder Cup. After all, he has been playing at the event for over a decade and gained much of his popularity there. The fast-approaching verdict from the arbitration panel should be announced between April and June. Until then he will undoubtedly be on edge!
Poulter opens up about the breakaway tour’s future

In his story, Poulter also spoke about the future of LIV Golf. “LIV Golf League is here to stay it’s only 30 rounds old,” he wrote. “And every start-up business takes time.” The golf pro believed that the new series was not dissolving anytime soon and was in it for the long haul.
He claimed that the “product” that the tour of defectors brought was unmatched and that he would certainly make sure that it flourished. “I’m so proud to see how far it’s come in such a short space of time,” he claimed. “It’s an incredible business and product and it will be incredible.”
