Day one of the prestigious Ryder Cup has come to an end. The European side has dominated today’s field. It is becoming more difficult for the US to break the cruel curse that has plagued them for 30 years, which prevents them from winning the trophy on enemy territory.
However, according to the game’s rules, there can never be a winner without a loser. Sportsmanship is defined by one’s response to defeat. Unlike his archrival, 2023 PGA Championship winner, Brooks Koepka, openly accepts defeat with more maturity. And he is proud to say it.

Ryder Cup is having one of the most electrifying and unique atmospheres right now. The venue being in Rome, definitely European side supporters are much larger in number than US team supporters. And today the fans of the European team got to witness one of the best games of their star.
In foursome matches, the whole European team defeated their rivals in the whole four matches. Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, and many others were in top form to beat the big names of the US team, Brooks Koepka, Ricki Fowler, and many more. And in the fourballs, two matches were tied, and both teams got to win each.
Koepka and Scottie Scheffler faced off against Rahm and Rasmus Højgaard in the second four-ball match. Despite the match ending in a draw, things are already becoming heated. Rahm’s frustrating incident at the US Open, when he slammed the putter against the credential sign, was brought up by Koepka. According to Koepka, he is more mature to take the result in an adult way. ”I mean, I want to hit a board and pout just like Jon Rahm did. But, you know, it is what it is. Act like a child. But we’re adults. We move on,” said Koepka.
