The last few days have been extremely joyful for European golf fans. They have been a testimony to what European golfers are capable of. Viktor Hovland carding two consecutive wins at the BMW Championship and Tour Championship, just before the Ryer Cup, is great on its own.
Partial teams for the tournament are locked in. The top 6 players in the Ryder Cup standings making their way to the US team. And for Team EU, 4 players are finalized.
Yes, you heard us right! 4 players! Tyrrell Hatton has qualified for the European team, all thanks to his place in the World Points List. The English Hothead sits at the fourth spot on the World Points List after Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, and Hovland. Hatton has 197.16 points to his name, just 20 more than Tommy Fleetwood, who is also a favorite to join the team.
Nosferatu, a popular page on platform X (formerly known as Twitter) that keeps track of points and OWGR rankings, shared this update. “@TyrrellHatton is now QUALIFIED for @RyderCupEurope via the World Points list! #GoEurope ”

For the American team, the top 6 players on the Ryder Cup standings make the first 6 members of the clan. Golfers collect points all season, and players who are in the top 6 spots qualify automatically for the team. The other 6 are chosen by the captain. They are usually referred to as Captain’s picks.
For the European team, things are a little different. The top 3 players on the European points list qualify for the team. The next three are selected from the World’s Points list. And the remaining 6 are again the Captain’s picks, just like it is in American teams.
