Our minds perceive the concept and we get educated about it growing up, but it still amuses us when we spot identical twins. There is something magical about the concept of two people looking exactly like each other. And when they end up as popular people, especially in the sports & entertainment zone, fans play out so many fictional scenarios that can be incredibly fun.
A tweet recently mentioned Ryder Cup rookie Nicolai Hojgaard playing for the European team alongside his twin brother, Rasmus. The twins both grew up playing golf and they are both pros now in the DP World Tour. Seeing the two at the Ryder Cup event, a journalist shared a tweet about how it would be fun to mix them up in the event.

A tweet with a video of Nicolai Hojgaard’s twin brother, Rasmus driving Nicolai’s cart spoke about a fun prospect. The tweet read “Need to try the ole switcheroo for at least a couple shots this weekend.”
The two wearing the same team gear and moving side by side assure us that a mix-up situation would probably be quite hard to spot unless a very sharp observer notices differences in their game. A comment joked about how the Ryder Cup management probably prescribed some haircut solution or something to recognize the difference between the two.

In fact, a comedy of mistaken identity has already happened to the duo.
Rasmus Hojgaard talks about his experiences with brother Nicolai
When Rasmus won the European Masters in 2021, he was in for a surprise. Instead of congratulating him, fans ended up crowding over Nicolai, who was out to play in the Italian Open a week later.
Speaking of the incident, Rasmus said to CNN “Not many people can tell us apart, so probably 50 people came up to him … that was tough on him.”
Moving on to their dynamic in terms of the sport, Rasmus maturely explained his perspective. While their paths may diverge at any point, they were determined to cherish the time they stayed together.

Rasmus also mentioned how in 2020, when Nicolai was struggling a bit, while he was doing well. He said that the experiences they went through during that time helped him learn a lot.
Focusing more on Rasmus, let’s explore what kind of person he is and how his vibe presents itself to the outside world.
How is Rasmus Hojgaard as a person?
Golfers Emilie Alba Paltrinieri and Alessia Nobilio, once played a mixed-team event with the twins and Emilie had only nice things to say about Rasmus.
She said in an interview that behind Rasmus’ calm exterior, there is a kind soul underneath. Rasmus apparently compliments his playing partners a lot and helps them stay comfortable. She said he has a beautiful heart.
Emilie recollected how he was quite shy and focused on his game. But she was delighted at how that didn’t stop him from helping her out and supporting her.
When Nicolai won the Italian Open, he spoke about how Rasmus and his girlfriend were present. They accompanied Nicolai’s girlfriend, Amanda Falkenberg, to the event. We get that the twins and their partners all share a warm rapport as a group.
Like his brother Nicolai, Rasmus also keeps his Instagram handle strictly professional and keeps personal moments away from social media.

The Danish youngster has had four wins until now with the European tour. The most prominent of them is his win at the Omega European Masters in 2021. Curiously, that is the only event where he won without going through a playoff.
His most recent win was at the Made in Himmerland event in Denmark earlier this June.
Following that, he was a bit out of form recently. He didn’t make the cut to the Omega European Masters 2023 edition even. However, in the French Open that happened a few days back, he made a comeback and finished with a solo fourth position.

There were talks about the brothers playing together in the Ryder Cup. That didn’t happen, though. Perhaps his recent form played a role in the decision. Regardless, the calm Dane has collected himself and got back into form. Hopefully, he will retain this momentum and surprise his fans in the coming months.
