The Ryder Cup anticipation is soaring like never before and is expected to flame from here on. With less than a month left for the prestigious tournament to spread its wings on Italian soil, one of the most challenging dilemmas, the team selection, has finally been answered by the US Ryder Cup captain, Zach Johnson.
While it features many eminent names, one PGA Tour pro has felt the austerity of the situation. Divulging on his non-involvement in the team, a 6-time PGA Tour winner expressed his disappointment regarding missing a place in Rome. His disheartening remarks emerged from a place of strenuous effort and impersonal dynamics, per the golfer.

While a lot of players have been hoping for a spot on captain Zach Johnson’s Ryder Cup picks, Keegan Bradley remained a constant name among them. However, the revelation of the list came as a disappointment for the golfer. The official TourPro account on Twitter shared Bradley’s interaction with Todd Lewis, a journalist for Golf Central.
Expressing his immediate dismay on answering the call, he mentioned, “I could tell by the response that I wasn’t on the team.” He expressed his reaction to not making the team, adding feeling completely “bummed out.” However, the PGA Tour professional did not end his statement without adding pointers to his perspective.
Continuing ahead, he talked about his 2023 season with two wins, among which one came on the mighty Hartford Greens. “I am proud of what I’ve done,” stated the 2023 Travellers Championship victor. However, the exclusion, per him, appears because he has “always been an outsider” in the game.
Keegan Bradley on missing the Ryder Cup:
“I’ve always been an outsider in the sport but I have tried to get closer to the guys I thought would be on the team. I feel like moving forward I’m going to have to automatically qualify for the Ryder Cup.”

Pursuing the same thoughts, he reiterated about having repeatedly tried to get closer personally and professionally to the other professionals, though lacking in the same criteria. Sounding dispirited, the 37-year-old determined to focus on the automatic qualification to the team from next time onwards.
Even social media seemed in lieu of the golfer. They believed his absence in the ‘inner circle’ should not be a cause of his Ryder Cup miss. While the revelation of the picks has brought displeasure for the golfer and others, there are six assured gratified players on their flight to Rome.

It is salient to note that the American golfers will play on European ground and aim to secure a victory for the first time since 1993. Hence, this ambition required a parallel determined force. And it appears that Zach Johnson has finally decided the men he will be leading against the European army.
One of the stunning picks is the LIV golfer Brooks Koepka, who, prior to the BMW Championship, was topping the charts for a probable automatic qualification. Nevertheless, he has registered his name on the team, thanks to the six captain’s picks. The second name on the catalog boasts the recent showstopper, Collin Morikawa, who played exceptionally well at the Tour Championship.
Following the cue of these two are Rickie Fowler, Sam Burns, and Jordan Spieth. A controversial addition to the US Team is Justin Thomas, who has had a faltering year in 2023.
These names were revealed by the US captain on Tuesday from the PGA of America headquarters. Apart from them, the six players who had already stamped their positions in the team included Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele.
With the team set, each individual will try to pursue a front that helps them register a win for their country. While these individuals have been picked by the golfer, it is evident that many others have felt disheartened by the decision, including Keegan Bradley.
With that, what do you think of Bradley’s statements concerning the Ryder Cup choices? Let us know in the comments.
