Day two of the prestigious Ryder Cup has come to an end. Most likely, tomorrow we will witness the new champion of the cup. But as of now, Europe dominates the game and the crowd. For US stars, it is difficult to shine on the enemy’s turf. The game will continue tomorrow, but fans are also witnessing the dramatic side of the competition.
Things are getting heated in Rome, from the internal conflict within the US squad to Brooks Koepka‘s ‘child’ remarks against Jon Rahm. However, amidst all of this, the 2023 Masters winner is choosing a moral path and eradicating the whole prospect of a feud in the Ryder Cup.
Jon Rahm is taking a higher road

Just to refresh your recollection, Koepka made a rather bold statement regarding how he handled his defeat yesterday. After losing the foursome matches in a pretty embarrassing way, Koepka came up to accept the defeat. But in that, he also mentioned Rahm. ”I mean, I want to hit a board and pout just like Jon Rahm did. But, you know, it is what it is. Act like a child. But we’re adults. We move on,” said Koepka.
The PGA Championship champion is referring to an incident that occurred at the US Open this year. Rahm’s disappointment was evident following the poor second round. On holes 17 and 18, he made bogeys, and when it was time to sign the scoreboard, he whacked the board with his putter.
But that competition is long over, and so is Rahm’s attitude. But bringing up the sore memory that too by the enemy could have put Rahm in an angry position. But looking at today’s interview, the situation is different. Rahm claims that he did the foolish act of toppling the signboard, and Koepka is free to reflect on it. “I’m very comfortable with who I am,” he said. “I’ve done much worse on a golf course.”

Well, we love seeing this confident Rahm, who is not affected by others’ remarks about him. Let’s see how fans reacted to his statement.
The act is a classy one, according to many
In such an intense atmosphere, even a little push from the opposite side could bring out the worst in players. Rahm had an open opportunity to bash Koepka, but he chose the higher road and openly accepted that what he did back in the major was childish.
For one fan, this was what was expected from the Spaniard. He wrote:
He never fails to end up being the adult in the room

The more he talks, the more I like Jon Rahm.

Nobody can put Rahm in a bad light because, according to this fan, the Masters winner knows he acts like a child sometimes.
Even Rahm knows he’s a baby on the golf course.

One fan is happy that Rahm didn’t react to Koepka’s statement.
That's good man. I'm glad he didn't react.

For one fan, Rahm is able to beat the US on the court as well as off the court with his attitude.
Beating us on and off the course. It's a blood bath out there

One fan is eager to see a playoff between Rahm and Koepka.
We need Rahm v Brooks in the singles but I know Zatch will find a way to screw that up

For one fan, when everything is going well with you, then it is easy to take a higher road. But still, in his eyes, Rahm is doing a good job.
It's easy to be the "better" man when you have won 2 and halved a match rather than not won either match.
Rahm is showing a bit of class though.— Eddie Maylor (@Eddie_21001) September 30, 2023
