Bryson DeChambeau has been in a bit of a rough spot lately. After his majestic 58 at Greenbrier and grabbing his first win since his jump to LIV Golf, fans were hoping things would keep soaring up for ‘the Scientist.’ However, that doesn’t seem to be the case!

First there was the Ryder Cup team announcement, which excluded him and a few other arguable deserving LIV golfers. Adding to that, he also just a few weeks ago lost the challenge against Phil Mickelson in a pulsating clash. And now it seems like his next rival has taunted him too, adding to the excitement of their fast-approaching face-off in Chicago!

Dechambeau and his Crushers’ partner Anirban Lahiri recently contested Phil Mickelson and his HyFlyers mate Cameron Tringale in a two-against-two challenge. Suffice to say, adding to his Ryder Cup disappointment, the Scientist didn’t see too much good news there either. After a lot of banter and fun exchanges, Lefty and his teammate took home the win. However, it seems like the one-time major winner is eager to win a challenge.

Looking ahead to Chicago, DeChambeau has challenged RangeGoats captain Bubba Watson and team member Harold Varner III to a face-off. This pairing is likely to steal the thunder at the Chicago event, as per popular opinion. And it seems like the rest of the team is already preparing for the banter-filled hours! After all, their recent Instagram post taunted the Scientist openly!

The RangeGoats’ Instagram page just uploaded a picture of the two captains standing next to each other. In it, DeChambeau can be seen squinting forward, trying to look for something. Capitalizing on his look, the RangeGoats hilariously wrote, “@brysondechambeau trying to see how bad we are going to beat @crushers_gc in our match at LIV Chicago.”

Surprisingly, that wasn’t the only taunt the one-time major winner received of late. When Lefty witnessed him challenge Watson and Varner, he taunted the Crushed GC skipper. Mickelson tweeted about how smart it was of DeChambeau to not go for a rematch and move on instead. He further said that compared to a rematch, it would be “better to throw the towel in and move on.”

Despite the taunts, however, it seems like the long hitter is keen on coming out on top in a challenge. And a glimpse at the LIV Golf standings even paints a positive picture for the Scientist and his team!

Based on the recent stats, who is likelier to win the challenge?

The current LIV Golf season schedule has fourteen events. Of the 14 events, 11 have already passed, with the latest being the Bedminster event. The Crushers finished the event in second place, while the RangeGoats finished fourth.

Overall, too, the Scientest’s team holds the upper hand with 146 points and the 4th position on the season-long standings, while the RangeGoats are close behind at 5th with 143 points. However, individually on the overall leaderboard, DeChambeau and Lahiri stand at 7th and 15th, respectively, while Varner and Watson hold the 9th and 35th spots.
