The 43rd Ryder Cup is currently underway at the Whistling Straits, Wisconsin. Meanwhile, Team USA is off to an incredible start as they conclude day 1 with a score of 6-2. On the other hand, Europe had a horrendous start as their star players Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter, and others were struggling to get their game going.

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy got a chance to play in the morning foursome and the afternoon four-ball as well. However, he let his team down on both occasions, first with Ian Poulter and then with Shane Lowry.

After a dreadful defeat in the morning session, Captain Padraig Harrington paired Rory McIlroy with Shane Lowry in the afternoon four-ball session. However, even this didn’t seem to work as they lost the game to Harris English and Tony Finau. The game was all over by the 15th hole.

Moreover, a video is doing rounds on Twitter where Lowry was seen ignoring Rory’s fist bump after completing the first hole. However, it could well be because he didn’t see it and wasn’t intentional from Lowry.

Meanwhile, McIlroy and Lowry took the initial lead as they were 1up thru 5 thanks to a bride from Rory McIlroy. This was the only birdie from this duo as they struggled their way till the end. Both Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy faced issues with their game, and it looked like nothing was going their way.

Furthermore, Harris English and Tony Finau, even though the pair started slowly, they got their game going after the 5th hole. The American pair managed to make five birdies in total and won the match with ease. Meanwhile, Rory faced a similar defeat in the morning foursome session as well. Rory and Poulter faced a dreadful defeat of 5&3 against Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.
