Nelly Korda is competing in “The Annika” driven by Gainbridge at the Pelican Golf Club that starts in a day. Speaking ahead of the tournament, Korda answered a few questions about her game. She also said a few words about the event and how the Annika tag makes a difference in the energy.

She spoke about the sport of golf. The LPGA cover girl got candid about what golf means to her and why it excites her. She spoke about golf courses, kids, the future, and what hypes her up the most about the sport.

At the Pelican event, Nelly Korda faced a question about what excites her about the future of the LPGA Tour. Korda responded that the growth of the sport is a primary excitement. She mentioned that inspiring the younger generation is something she loves a lot. She described how it feels to meet the kids and influence them to love the sport the way she does. 

Moving on to more personal reasons, she said “playing all the amazing golf courses that are lined up in the major championships,” excited her. She added that “being in contention in the last nine holes where the rush of emotions is amazing.”

The 25-year-old spoke about how she loves playing the final nine holes and facing the challenge they offer. She further explained her admiration for well-designed golf courses. In her opinion, the game is trending in an amazing direction. Korda also mentioned Annika Sorenstam’s presence and how it impacts the game in a very positive way. 

Nelly Korda has emerged out of her short hiatus post-Solheim Cup and it looks like she is ready to win back her form. Apart from the Pelican Championship, she will also compete in the Grant Thornton Invitational, alongside her teammate Tony Finau. Korda and Finau are quite excited about the mixed event, and they expressed it as well.

The Nelly Korda and Tony Finau combo was one of the six teams to be locked before the other ten teams became public. The mixed event features 32 players from the PGA and the LPGA Tours, playing as 16 teams.

The event has three rounds, and the first round would be a scramble. This is the round that Nelly Korda showed the most excitement about. She opined Scramble has a lot of scoring opportunities. She confessed how eager she was to go out there and strategize for the round with her playing partner, Finau. The $4 Million event will begin on December 8 and last for three days. Team events are usually a big hit in the golf world and we can’t wait for December.
