Is Yin Ruoning the new face of dominance in women's golf with her recent performances?

The 2024 Maybank Championship is about to conclude in just a few hours! And well, looks like this might be Yin Ruoning’s chance to get back into contention. After winning the Buick LPGA Shanghai around two weeks ago, she has once again made it to the headlines. After finishing the 72-hole event, which some of the other field members had yet to complete, she went to the final round completely bogey-free.

The Chinese LPGA Tour Pro began the round with a birdie and also had a great ending to it, with a birdie as well, carding a total of seven of them. She is currently in the lead, one stroke ahead of Jeeno Thitikul. So what are the weapons that are helping her pace the game in Malaysia?

Exploring Ruoning Yin’s Callaway Arsenal

According to witb.com, Ruoning Yin opts for the Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond 9° driver and equips it with the Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 6S shaft. The 22-year-old has an average drive distance of 259.38, which makes her rank in the top 50 of the list. This is because of the exceptional precision and distance that she can achieve with her suited driver. It is generally priced at $599.99. However, due to the ongoing sale on their official website, the driver is currently available for $399.99.

The Chinese professional uses a set of 3-woods. They are all the Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond 9°, which she used with the Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 6S shaft. This is best suited for stronger players who are looking for a penetrating ball flight with lower spin. They are currently priced at $349.99 on the official website of Callaway. She also uses the Apex Utility Wood 19° for the hybrids.

She equips it with the Aldila Riptide 6.0 60S shaft to get a more neutral ball flight in the course. It can be used off the tee into tight landing areas, out of the fairway into Par-5s, or from the rough. These are currently priced at $299.99. For the irons, Yin opts for the Callaway X Forged CB (4i-PW) with the Nippon N.S. Pro 950 GH S shaft. These are priced somewhere between $419.99 and $1012.99, but due to the sale, they are available at $377.99 – $911.69.
