Rickie Fowler had a rough start to the year. He even missed the cut at the 2023 PGA Championship. However, week after week, he kept improving his performance and even went on to lift the cup at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. The orange-clad golfer has exhibited an excellent level of sportsmanship, which propelled him into the top 30 of the Official World Golf Rankings, and is undoubtedly hoping to carry the momentum into the playoffs.

Currently ranked No. 26 in the rankings, Fowler opened up about how he is looking to play in the upcoming championship. Answering the question of how he feels about his current run, he expressed his excitement for the no-cut event as he talked about how this has been his best entry into the playoffs as far as his performance went. Confident in his game, the pro also mentioned the consistent year he had, which helped him qualify.

Thankful for the rest he received, Fowler hopes to play some really good golf and reach the end of the road at the PGA Tour Championship being hosted at East Lake. “I was kind of running on an empty tank at the Scottish and the British. That was the last of eight out of a 10-week stretch,” added the golf pro as he talked about how the break from the hectic schedule has helped him “recharge” ahead of the playoffs.

The last couple of months had been a whirlwind for the 34-year-old golfer, as he registered an amazing win and remarkable finishes to his name. Moreover, he was able to jump many ranks in the Official World Golf Rankings as he put up stellar performances in PGA Tour events.

Fowler’s confidence boost from The RM Classic

The American golf pro was able to pull off a stunning performance with a win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Detroit Golf Club. He claimed the title and the trophy by finishing at a score of 24-under-par 264. Taking home the prize money of $1.5 million, he was able to beat Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin to clinch the victory.

Fowler was able to end his four-year victory drought with a win at Detroit and will be hoping to carry forward the drive as he hopes to win $3.6 million at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
