Brooks Koepka, Scottie Scheffler
Brooks Koepka‘s LIV contract, worth $100 million, will expire by the end of the 2026 season. And ever since fans got to know about it, they have been wondering if he would return to the PGA Tour after all. Fred Couples went a step ahead and added more fuel to the fire by stating, “I will say that I believe he really wants to come back and play the Tour,” and also mentioned that he was in close contact with the golfer. However, Koepka hit back and said, “Everybody seems to have their own opinion and no one asks me.” The only conclusion one could come to was that the golfer didn’t intend to leave LIV, but that doesn’t mean he can’t point out the league’s errors, right?
Three weeks ago, he was on ‘The Joe Pomp Show’, where he stated: “Because we are behind. To be quite fair. Behind where we should be. From bringing sponsors in to hitting the international market and the US market.” That being said, he reiterated his commitment to LIV. All of this has been happening with the looming LIV Golf-PGA merger in the background, which brings in a whole lot of uncertainty. Regardless, fans may get to see Koepka with Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. And no, we aren’t talking about the Tour.
They are all a part of the film ‘Happy Gilmore 2’, which will also feature Adam Sandler. The first part was released in 1996, and Sandler portrayed a failed hockey player, but his unique skills led him to golf. He became a sensation in the sport because of his power and odd way of playing. And now, the upcoming sequel (to be released on July 25) will have some fitting names as a part of the cast, who had fun filming with Sandler.

“It was amazing. I spent two weeks up there. Just really cool,” McIlroy shared. “I spent a lot of time with Scottie and Brooks and Bryson, the four of us that were up there and filming a lot of the same scenes.”

But hold on! This isn’t the first time McIlroy has mentioned Happy Gilmore. Back in 2021, he sent Sandler a video clip celebrating the film’s 25 years. He thanked Sandler for “all the laughs you’ve given us over the years,” and added that Happy Gilmore is one of his favorite movies. All this brings in a question. Will we see the three golfers interacting more in the future, with the film’s promotions coming? Well, that is yet to be seen, but it looks like McIlroy has no ill will towards LIV golfers.

When Rory McIlroy shared a positive message for Bryson DeChambeau despite the merger block…
Rory McIlroy is as tired as the rest of us when it comes to the news regarding the LIV Golf and the PGA Tour merger. In the last couple of years, we have reached nowhere in this particular regard. Consequently, it was no surprise when the World No. 2 said the best way is to bring back banned card-holders such as Bryson DeChambeau. Back in February, the star golfer said he didn’t care if “people were b*tt-hurt” because some golfers left for the Saudi-backed league. Additionally, he brought up the point that LIV Golf’s appearance has certainly helped all of them; At least the big golfers.
Additionally, he said that he doesn’t mind if they return to the Tour, as long as they have the status. “Having Bryson DeChambeau come back and play on this tour is good.” While initially, McIlroy took players leaving for LIV personally, his stance has changed over the years.

Honestly, DeChambeau has been one of the popular golfers the Tour is looking to have back. Not surprised. In the latest Full Swing season in February, he mentioned the LIV golfer and had only good things to say. “Bryson is exactly what the game of golf needs right now. I would certainly like the opportunity to play against him a little more often if I could. You know, he’s made the game of golf more exciting this year.”
Hollywood has surely managed to bring some of the biggest golf stars together, but when will the golf organizations manage that? We will see, folks!
