Does Bryson DeChambeau regret leaving the PGA Tour? The 31-year-old has been in the headlines for planning his exit strategy from LIV Golf recently. Many sources have speculated that the Mad Scientist wants to breach his contract with the Saudi-based promotion and return to the PGA Tour. Although DeChambeau himself has never come forward to hint at anything as such in the past.
So why have the rumors begun? Well, for one, DeChambeau hasn’t been as successful in LIV Golf as he was on the PGA Tour. In his 4 years in the PIF-back circuit, DeChambeau has captured only 2 wins. He has also never been in content for the individual player award in any season. The only time of solace he has found is in the Crushers GC’s victory in the 2023 LIV Golf Team Championship. At least, that is what it might seem like to an outsider looking in. But the situation within the structure of the league is quite different and much more favorable to DeChambeau.
One of LIV Golf’s close associates has just shared the 31-year-old’s thoughts, or lack thereof, on the PGA Tour. The sources gave Mirror Sport an idea about what makes LIV Golf captains like Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm stay loyal to the PIF-funder promotion. They said, “The captains have a 25 percent equity stake in their teams. They are committed to the long-term success and future of their teams and the league”. This confirms that DeChambeau & Co. achieves a lot more behind the scenes. Maybe that’s what the Crushers GC captain was missing in the PGA Tour.

Lastly, the media outlet also confirmed that DeChambeau’s contract with LIV Golf expires in 2026. So, the high salary is not the only lucrative aspect LIV Golf offers. The added responsibilities to make a difference and a stake in their team gives hope to the best of the best in the league. Hence, it’s hard to imagine Bryson DeChambeau breaking the terms of his contract and venturing towards the PGA Tour.

Does Bryson DeChambeau not want to get involved with the PGA Tour?
Bryson DeChambeau has never outright spoken ill of the PGA Tour or Jay Monahan. He has always stated that he has fond memories from his time in the American League. But he is stern on his commitment to LIV Golf and eludes any situations that may lead to unwarranted rumors.
During his visit to India, DeChambeau was questioned by Abantika Ghosh, a journalist from EssentiallySports, about his desire to play in the TGL. At first, he showed that he was enthusiastic about it by mentioning, “Well, if I was allowed… I think it would be interesting. I think TGL has an interesting opportunity, I’m all about anything to grow the game, so if it’s helping grow the game, then fantastic”.

Is Bryson DeChambeau's loyalty to LIV Golf just about the money, or is there more to it?

Even though he seemed interested, he clarified his stance on a potential opportunity with TGL, “I don’t know if they’d take me though, I’ve no idea. I got a whole team over here at Crushers, come on. Crushers can be part of that”. As you can see, he is focused on promoting his LIV Golf team in TGL. That shows his level of commitment to Crushers GC and the Saudi league.

However, DeChambeau was more wary about collaborating directly with the PGA Tour. He received the opportunity to interview with his former associates from the PGA Tour for the Netflix documentary series, Full Swing. However, DeChambeau and his manager declined the proposal. This shows that Bryson DeChambeau wants to stay away from anything related to the PGA Tour.
