The Mizuho Americas Open which took place at the Liberty National Golf Course, was a four-day strong game featuring several golfers. Despite all the competition and hassle of the game, this wonder woman of golf again proved herself to be on the list of the top-tier LPGA golfers soon. She not only won the game but also won it with a groundbreaking score of 9-under.
With the completion of the event, Zhang, at last, opened up about her secret of winning the trophy. She shared her conviction in an episode of the Golf, Mostly podcast.
There she said, “I will say going into the week, I had no sort of real expectation towards how I should finish…or expected myself to struggle to make the cut. And that’s kind of what I had to do just because I’m entering a new world of professional golf…I didn’t feel like I was completely ready with my game. And the fact that I went out there did what I didn’t get what I needed to I guess it really did show that you know, I was capable of handling all that.”
Thus, she basically highlighted the fact that having no expectations can sometimes turn out as surprises and that’s what has happened to her.
