Rory McIlroy has consistently showcased his dedication as one of the most active golfers on the course. The Northern Irishman ace rarely falls short at tournaments he attends. Despite a ten-year gap since his last Major win, the winner of 23 PGA Tour titles continues to add notable achievements to his record

McIlroy is going to be a part of DP World Tour’s BMW PGA Championship, which kicks off on September 14 at the renowned Wentworth Club’s West Course in Surrey. After concluding the game he will head towards the most awaited Ryder Cup. Talking about the prestigious event, he gave some insights into his game plan.

The Evolving Dynamics of the European Team

In a recent interview with GOLF’s Subpar, PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy talked about his Ryder Cup plans and strategies. When asked about the changes in the leadership role, he said, “Poulter and Sergio and Westwood and those guys filled for so long, you know, it’s, as I said, it’s, it’s gonna be weird for me to walk into the team room and not see any of those guys there.”

He continued, “But as I said, this is a team on transition. And, you know, we have to look to the future and try to build for the future and it’s probably up to guys [to] let you know, we still have Justin Rose in there.He finds it astonishing to think that he is now the third oldest player on the European team. That’s a perspective shift for sure.

He mentioned while they have pillars like Rosie and himself, players like Rambo, though young, have gained significant prominence.  Among the world’s best, many on the team look up to him.

Talking about leadership responsibilities he stated, “So there’s going to be some guys that are going to have to step into the roles that, you know, some of those European stalwarts of the last 20 years have had fulfilled and, and everyone’s got different leadership roles, right.

Rory McIlroy will lead by example at the Ryder Cup

As a leader within the group, McIlroy surely knows how to lead by example. “I’ve always tried to lead by example. So if that means as one of the oldest and one of the, if that means that I’m the first one on the range, and no more than or I’m the first one in the team bus or I’m the you know, just, you know, if people are looking to me to see what I’m doing, and this is my seventh Ryder Cup,” he said.

He candidly opened up on how he is trying to do little things that make the rookie realize that I’m just as excited and just as nervous and feeling all the emotions just like they are.” As the Ryder Cup is nearing we can’t wait to see what the future holds and who shines on top!
