According to McIlroy, when Reed came forward to greet him, he didn’t feel the need to say hello. “I was down by my bag and he came up to me, and I was busy working and sort of doing my practice, and I didn’t really feel like — I didn’t feel the need to acknowledge him,” he said. “So I didn’t see a tee coming my direction at all, but apparently that’s what happened. Well, fans could take that as a warning from McIlroy to the LIV Golf defector. But he has not confirmed taking action against his former PGA Tour fellow yet. And during his claims, McIlroy also revealed that he was allegedly “subpoenaed” by Reed’s lawyer on Christmas Eve. And he definitely didn’t take it well. “I’m living in reality, I don’t know where he’s living. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn’t expect a hello or a handshake,” he added. As per McIlroy, he was not ready to rebuild relations with another LIV Golf player.
