Rory McIlroy currently ranks at No. 6 in the Official World Golf Rankings. As one of the top golfers, the Irishman is considered to have one of the best swings in the golf world. However, who are the top 5 golfers who Rory thinks have the best swing in the game?

Golf Digest recently shared McIlroy’s top 5 picks on their Instagram.

As expected, Tiger Woods has one of the best swings, in his opinion. McIlroy has publicly admitted he is the biggest fanboy of the GOAT. As one of his fans, the Irish golfer has studied Woods’ each move and knows how good his swings actually are. According to Swing Analysis of Golf Digest, Woods has changed his swings throughout his career. However, he has found success with every change.

The 32-year-old golfer chose Justin Thomas as one of his other picks. According to Golf Channel, Thomas’ swing resembles that of Woods in his early days.

Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott admire each other’s swings

Like Woods, Adam Scott was not a surprise pick either, considering McIlroy had actually praised his swings during the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He said, “Yeah, anyone could watch Adam Scott swing all day long. He’s got a nice rhythm.”

Meanwhile, Scott, too, thinks of McIlroy the same way. “I love watching him swing a golf club,” Scott said about Rory. “I think almost everyone in the world would say that.”

The golfers were grouped together in the first round of the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational. After round one, not only did McIlroy top the group, but he was leading the leaderboard with 6-under 65.

The South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen also holds a position among McIlroy’s favorite swings. Oosthuizen is widely known for having one of the best, if not the best, swings in the world. According to WorldWideGolf website, his swing has ‘power, balance, fluidity, and oozes class.’ 

McIlroy picked Charles Howell III as his final favorite. Considered one of the best swingers in the world, Howell has recently reached an incredible milestone on the PGA Tour. He made his 600th appearance at the 2022 Waste Management Phoenix Open.
