Rory McIlroy is among the few vocal golf professionals who have openly spoken about LIV Golf Invitational Series. He has expressed his opinion regarding professionals who shifted from the PGA Tour to the rival golf league in the past. However, recently, McIlroy spoke contrasting words about the same and presented a different opinion about the Saudi-backed golf league.

In a brief interview with BBC, the four-time major championship winner spoke about peace talks between PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and LIV Golf. He spoke about the same after his second round ended at the JP McManus Pro-Am at the beautiful Adare Manor Golf Course.
Moreover, McIlroy talked about how the tension surrounding the golf world between the three tours would significantly change and improve the game. He also spoke about how peace talks between them should take place soon. Not to forget, players like Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau are now a part of the LIV Golf Series and have received massive backlash about the same.
The 33-year-old professional mentioned how the three tours should try to come together, and that all the drastic steps taken by different individuals have made this a messy situation. But it will make a forced change to the sport. Rory’s words come as a surprise, as earlier, he had lashed out at the new tour and did not like players leaving their respective Tours to play in the Saudi-backed Golf League.
Rory McIlroy has a change in opinion about LIV Golf
The Northern Irishman spoke about the same after being asked if peace talks between the three Tours should take place at some stage. He said, “I think so. I think that needs to happen. They sponsor so many other things. They’re, all over sport. I understand people’s reservations with everything, but at the same time, if these people are serious about investing billions of dollars into golf, I mean, I think ultimately, that that’s a good thing.”
A host of top golfers have now left the PGA and DP World Tours to join the controversial LIV tour. It's funded by Saudi Arabia, a country with a poor human rights record. McIlroy added, “All the narrative isn’t, it isn’t good at splitting the game, instead of everyone coming together and I think everyone needs to try to come together a little bit more.” Moreover, the big hitter’s words prove that maybe professionals want to move towards peace in the golf world. At the same time, it also shows that the tours coming together would maybe be a solution to the inherent problem of professionals shifting to the new tour.
