Rory McIlroy is among the few professionals who are outspoken about the Saudi Golf League. Moreover, he is among them who has made it clear that they staying with the PGA Tour. However, recently the Northern Irishman commented on Phil Mickelson’s comments on the PGA Tour.
Rory says we should forgive Phil

Last week has been really tough for the lefty, with the majority of his sponsors ending or passing his deals. Phil apologized for his comments as well as, revealed that he is taking a break from golf.
However, on Wednesday, Rory asked for forgiveness for Phil Mickelson before the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Rory spoke some heartwarming words for Mickelson on Wednesday in a press conference after his practice round at Bay Hill.
Rory said, “Look, we all make mistakes. We all say things we want to take back. No one is different in that regard. But we should be allowed to make mistakes, and we should be allowed to ask for forgiveness and for people to forgive us and move on.”

He added, “Hopefully, he comes back at some stage, and he will, and people will welcome him back and be glad that he is back. It’s unfortunate that a few comments that he thought he was making in confidence or off the record got out there and were, not used against him, but this whole situation is unfortunate.” It is truly amazing to see how Rory is backing Phil when he is low. This shows that Rory is a true sportsman and a good human.
In the wake of Phil’s controversy, Rory took a more compassionate tone towards the 51-year-old.

Rory McIlroy at Arnold Palmer Invitational
Rory is part of the field this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He is also the past winner of the event as he won the event back in 2018 with an overall score of 18-under-par. As a result, won the event with a three-shot lead. With Rory hitting his driver strong, he will surely be in contention at Bay hill.
