Rory McIlroy revealed his thoughts on the return of Tiger Woods at the PGA Tour tournaments. After a horrible car crash, Tiger took a break from golf to heal the injuries. Since the accident was a serious one, a time came when the doctors thought the only way to save him was to amputate his leg.
However, thankfully there was no need for that, and nine months later, he returned to the course with his son at the PNC Championship.

Although the Woods duo finished second in the tournament, the spectators could see the golf legend’s struggle. He opted to use carts to move around the course.

After the championship, all people wanted to know was whether Tiger would compete at the other tour events?
Rory McIlroy’s thoughts on the return of Tiger Woods!
Rory McIlroy was recently interviewed in Dubai and was also asked to share his thoughts on Tiger’s return. The interviewer asked Rory whether Tiger would return at the JP McManus Pro-Am. Due to the pandemic, the event was postponed from 2021 to 2022.
🚨Rory was asked in Dubai about his schedule this summer, then got asked if he thought TW would be present for the re-scheduled JP McManus Pro-am at Adare, and said it probably will depend on if he plays The Open, but “I think for him that’s a long way away.” (💬:The Independent) pic.twitter.com/I4Yw5gwCF8

“Maybe. I’d say if he was planning to play the Open Championship, then I would expect to see him at Adare,” said Rory. The Open is just before the JP McManus. And according to Rory, if Tiger plays at the first event, we can expect him to play at the latter event.
“But again, I think for him that’s a long way,” McIlroy added. Rory is the new director of the Player Advisory Council of the PGA Tour. So the chances of him being right are higher. And this broke the hearts of the fans.
Fans’ reaction to Rory’s comments
Tiger had already revealed that he would not be joining the Tour anytime sooner, if not ever. However, after the PNC Championship, the fans were happy to see the GOAT back on his feet. Many even predicted when the legend might return with all his might. But, somehow, after Rory’s shocking revelation, fans have started to lose hope.
Long way away could refer to it being many months from now, could also be Rory referring to his progress and how much farther he has to go. I thinks it’s the former but who knows. My prediction of the Genesis I think is going to be way off, sigh…
