Rory McIlroy is probably one of the biggest names in the sport of golf. He is the former world number one golfer and has managed to make a big name for himself. Rory’s swing is just a beauty to watch and probably one of the best on tour right now.

The 32 years old golfer spoke about success in an interview this week at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Rory McIlroy about success

The Northern Irishmen is probably one of the most successful golfers in the world. He turned professional in the year 2007 and has not looked back since then. Apart from his immaculate drives off the tee, Rory has a delicate touch around the greens and has a beautiful short game. McIlroy looks to get his 2022 season off to a good start at the 2022 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at the beautiful Yas Links.

Earlier this week Rory McIlroy in an interview spoke about success. He said, “Yeah, there’s certain like, does it make you feel better? Does it cement your legacy? Does it make other people think differently of you? Of course, it does. Like that’s, that’s what happens when you have success but actually designed to me if, of course, I want to win trophies because I have ambition and I have drive and, you know, ultimately, that’s what makes me feel my best. And I want to have that feeling over and over again. But I think it took me a while to get to the point where I was like, You know what, like, all these winds are great, but it doesn’t. It doesn’t change things.”

He added, “And you look at nowadays, whether it be Elon Musk or Bill Gates or these guys that are the richest guys in the world and the most successful, they still do the same things that they were doing 30 years ago. And that’s, and that’s life. We’re all here. We’re all sort of in this together. And, you know, we, you know, just because you have success, it doesn’t separate you from anyone else in some ways. And I think that’s pretty humbling and something that that you need to remember.”

Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship winner

The 2022 DP World Tour opener at Yas Links was truly a one to remember. The first Rolex event of the season, Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship saw a new winner, Thomas Pieters. Thomas won the tournament with an overall score of 10 under par.
