The LPGA will be back in New England for the first time since the 2004 US Women’s Open at the Orchards. After a successful final women’s major, the Tour is all set to host the inaugural season of the FM Championship. While this makes the event itself special for the league, for Pro Megan Khang, it holds more significance!

In nine years of being a part of the LPGA Tour, she has been across the globe to play various events, but this will be the first time the 26 YO will play in front of a hometown crowd in Rockland. Khang, who was introduced to the sport by her father, has almost played every golf course in Rockland. She even played a round at the TPC Boston just a few weeks ago.

The excitement of the American Professional golfer is at its peak for she is already at a home advantage. This will help with her strategic gameplay. A few hours ago, the official Instagram account of the LPGA tour in collaboration with that of the FM Championship, took to their wall and shared a video that gave a peak at her preparation.

Megan Khang was seen at the TPC Boston, stretching, and getting ready to bag a win at the FM Championship for the Boston Red Sox. They captioned the post, “It’s safe to say @megan_khang is all warmed up to throw the first pitch @redsox 💪”.

With her exceptional energy and zeal, Megan Khang left the entire golf community completely baffled. She seemed to be enjoying herself at practice as fans looked at her humorously preparing ahead of the FM Championship.

Although Megan Khang has finished in the top 10 forty times in her tenure on the LPGA Tour since 2016, she has only had one victory in her career so far. At the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open, she defeated Ko Jin-young with a two-stroke victory and won the trophy. This year though, has not been so great for her.

Khang ended up missing the cut in four out of the five Majors this season. She only made it to the US Women’s Open presented by Ally in May, where she finished with a disappointing T44. Hoping that playing in her hometown would not only open up her luck but also bring her the first victory of the season, her followers added good wishes.

They left comments like, “Great form Megan throw a Strike 👏” and “You go girl!!”

Charley Hull joined the LPGA Tour in 2015, a year before Khang became a part. Since then, she has had two victories on the Tour and is also ranked 11th on the Rolex Ranking. Although she has some great swings, she has not been able to have an inaugural win for the season. The 28 YO belongs to Weymouth. Trying to show support for both the female golf professionals, one of the users commented, “Weymouth has Charlie, Rockland has Megan!! 🏌🏻‍♀️⛳️🔥”.

Two weeks ago at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open, Megan Khang came very close to clinching her second trophy. She was left six strokes behind Lauren Coughlin, finishing with a T3 beside Ayaka Furue. She also bagged herself in the top 3 of two events on the Tour earlier.

Trying to pump her up with the close wins that slipped away from her hands, one of her fans tried to reignite the fire in her. They simply wrote, “Bring the heat MK!”

As Megan Khang was being recorded during her warm-up, the 26-year-old was seen being her humorous self. She was having fun as she gave her fans a view of the course. Taking to this, another fan, using their wit and sarcasm commented, “As serious as it gets lol”.
