So far, Robert MacIntyre has not had the best year on the field! Missing six cuts of the total 12 events that he participated in in 2024 makes his scorecards all the more depressing. Nonetheless, the Scottish player has had some good finishes, including a T6 at the Mexico Open and a T8 at the Zurich Classic with Thomas Detry. And now he’s perhaps looking for an even better one, which he just may find this week!

At the Myrtle Beach Classic, MacIntyre ended his first round tied for first alongside Beau Hossler after a remarkable 7-under, 64. Will he finally be able to grab his first career win on the PGA Tour? That’s a definite yes… at least if his diverse bag of clubs has a say!

The World No. 84, as per WITB.com, uses the Titleist TSR 2 (9 degrees) driver for hitting bombs off the tee. The club promises maximum speed and distance, and it also benefits players with a high launch and low spin. MacIntyre equips it with the Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7 X shaft, which further enhances the driver’s power and stability. The driver retails for $449. It is with this driver that he’s been able to bang a 360-yard drive at the Sony Open earlier this year and even achieve a 298.8-yard driving average in 2024.

Coming to his 3-wood, Bob uses the AEROJET LS Fairway (14.5 degrees) with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8 X shaft. The club is priced at $329.99; however, currently, as per the company site, it is retailing for a mere $199. Apart from giving its players consistent distance and spin, the 3-wood also provides a comparatively faster ball speed than others. It is also a great alternative to a driver for tee shots.

MacIntyre also carries a hybrid in his bag, opting for the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue (19 degrees). The club provides an abundance of versatility and playability without hindering ball speed, making it the go-to for many on the fairways. It retails for $279.99.

For his irons, Bob once again switches back to Titleist using his 620 CB (4-PW), just like World No. 9 Brian Harman. The irons provide a traditional look and feel but have a reduced offset and progressive blade length, thereby optimizing playability. The Scottish star equips them with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts. Each iron sells for approximately $175.

MacIntyre’s companions for the greens

For his wedges, it’s once again Titleist for the PGA Tour pro. He uses the Titleist Vokey Design SM9 50 degrees (O8F), equipping it with a True Temper Dynamic Gold Onyx X100 shaft. Additionally, he also has the same club with a 56-degree loft that he carries alongside Vokey Design WedgeWorks 60° (T). The latter two are equipped with the Dynamic Gold Onyx S400 by MacIntyre. These clubs, in addition to low bounce and shot versatility, also provide preciseness and trajectory control.

Finally, for holing in the ball, the Scottish star uses the Odyssey A.I.-One Milled 7T as his putter. For further stability, MacIntyre equips the $449.99 club with the SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 1.0P Claw grip. It is with the help of this putter that he has managed to score a putting average of 1.811 this season and an overall putting average of 1.641. Not too shabby for a PGA Tour rookie!

For his ball, he opts for the ever-reliable Titleist Pro V1x, a no doubt PGA Tour pro favorite. Additionally, the 27-year-old also carries the Golf Pride Z-Grip Cord and Grip Master grips in his bag.

On Thursday, it’s been all these clubs and accessories that have assisted Robert MacIntyre with his eight birdies across the 18 holes. Will they be able to help him in the coming three rounds too? Stay tuned to find out!
