The hype is reaching an all-time high as the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open is set to kick off at the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, Canada. The tournament is turning out to be a much anticipated one as it has become the last event for many LPGA golfers to qualify for the Solheim Cup. And Rose Zhang has found herself vying for the same ahead of the tournament.

The pro golfer will be aiming for the top spot on the scoreboard as she gears up for the tournament in hopes of the bigger picture. In a recent interview, Zhang opened up about her mindset regarding the same as she finds herself in the middle of the heat. The U.S. team for the prestigious tournament would consist of 12 players from the LPGA. The top seven players in the US Solheim Cup points list along with the top two players from the Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking at the end of the qualifying period will automatically qualify for the event. And Zhang currently finds herself outside the qualifying range before the CPKC Women’s Open hoping for a win to propel her towards the top.

In a recent press conference ahead of the tournament, the pro golfer opened up about her goal regarding the biennial tournament. Zhang mentioned how qualifying for the Cup, as a professional player, would “simply mean the world” to her as she has had previous experiences of playing and emerging victorious in the junior format of the event.

The 20-year-old continued to talk about how she definitely has the spot as a goal in her mind although she does not think about it daily. Moreover, she went ahead to indicate how playing for Stacy Lewis, the current captain of the American team for the Solheim Cup would mean “a little something extra special” since Rose had earlier played for the skipper at the Spirit International.

The LPGA star is currently gearing up for the tournament in the hopes of taking a cut of the $2.5 million prize purse along with a spot on the US team. Moreover, her recent preparations caught the eye of the golf community as she focused on her physical training as opposed to another golfer who took a lighter approach.

As the community is eagerly waiting for the start of the event, LPGA stars Nelly Korda and Zhang painted a different picture when it came to their preparations for the tournament through their Instagram handles. The 20-year-old golfer shared a video of her training in a gym. She was seen doing side lunges as the training video showcased a sense of determination for the upcoming event.

Meanwhile, Korda was seen getting ready in a contrasting fashion as the LPGA cover girl shared a photo of her having a coffee before traveling to the country. While both golfers had different methods to prepare for the event, one can definitely say that the golf world is in for an exciting weekend.
