Weather plays an important part in golf. Since the golf ball is light, the wind can change its direction easily. However, what if the weather conditions are in favor of the golfers? Then, nobody can stop them from creating records, one after the other. Check out how the weather has been helping the golfers playing at the West Coast Swing!

It has only been two days since the Pebble Beach Tournament started, and Seamus Power has rewritten not one but two records. When the second day ended, Seamus was in the lead with a 5-shot. The 5-shot lead is the tournament record that Bob Rosburg created in 1958 and Charlie Wi in 2012.

After 36-holes, Patrick scored a total of 16-under 128, which marked the lowest in tournament history. He broke the record created by Phil Mickelson in 2005 and Nick Taylor in 2020; Mickelson had a score of 15-under 129, while Taylor had a 14-under 129.

Has the weather been helping golfers to score well in the West Coast Swing?

The PGA Tour began its journey by playing at the  Hawaiian Islands and moving to the West Coast Swing golf courses. The West Coast Swing includes some of the best golf courses, including PGA West, Pebble Beach, and Torrey Pines.

Talking about his achievements, Power said that the weather indeed helped him. He said, “if the standard of golf is high and the conditions are perfect, this is what happens.” Adam Schenk also scored eight birdies in a row at the Farmers Insurance Open, which was held at the Torrey Pines.

It is not just Power, but many golfers who are attending the Pebble Beach event said the same about the weather. According to Patrick Cantlay, the present weather is the best weather he had ever seen at this tournament. He said, “We should get another couple days of great weather, some of the best I’ve seen at this tournament, so Pebble will probably be ripe for scoring.”
