The PGA Tour is to lose more of its players! Following the path of Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and others, two more prominent players, Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed, are set to join the LIV Golf Invitational Series.
The one-time major champions are likely to play in the Saudi-based golf league. According to reports, they will play in the Pumpkin Ridge in Portland, Oregon, from June 30-July 2. Although multiple media outlets have reported it, the LIV Golf officials have not yet confirmed the news. As of now, their official website hasn’t added the event’s field list.

“Bryson has always been an innovator,” Brett Falkoff, DeChambeau‘s agent, said to ESPN. “Having the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something unique has always been intriguing to him,” he further added. “Professional golf as we know it is changing, and it’s happening quickly.”
Notably, the 2020 U.S. Open Champion stated last week that he is not in a place to risk losing sponsors and his professional career. “I want to be one of the best players in the world,” he said during the 2022 Memorial Tournament. However, his agents’ statement and LIV Golf not confirming the news indicate that the chances of him playing in the event are high.

The Invitational Series already has Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson, and some other PGA players on their inaugural event field. Notably, the Centurion Club in London is hosting the first-ever Invitational Series tournament. Furthermore, with the addition of DeChambeau and Reed, the league will have two more major winners. Reed is the 2018 Masters Tournament Champion.
Fans’ reaction to the possibility of Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed’s contention in LIV Golf events
The golf world had speculated that Bryson DeChambeau would be joining the LIV Golf since the beginning. Reportedly, he was offered $100 million to play in the league. However, all the accusations ended when DeChambeau released a statement saying all the allegations were false.
Therefore, many fans had already set their mind to seeing DeChambeau leave the Tour to play in the league. Since that’s the case, not many expressed sadness when they found out about the news.
Oh no Bryson and Reed are gone, anyways

All of this opens up new slots for up-and-coming amazing golfers in America. These guys are at the top of their game and they trying to cash in which we don’t blame them. But other younger men can move into the PGATour and take their slot. Win-win!

That's great news, because I would love to never see either of them again on a golf broadcast.

Mostly, the Tour fans expressed their happiness in knowing that the two golfers would leave. However, some thought that the LIV Golf events have a future, considering many are leaving the Tour.
PGA TOUR should start to sweat right about now. This is becoming bigger than we thought

Gonna be interesting. That high level players are leaving should be concerning for PGA tour. Have to find a compromise if big names leave for the $$

PGA gotta hurry up and decide what they're gonna do about this, or they're going to lose their ability to do anything

This LIV golf thing is turning out to be brilliant. It’s a sports purge

So those who said LIV won’t work are now getting a little nervous I would say!

Whether or not you like these guys doesn't matter. They add drama and storylines to golf and give it depth. This steady trickle of talent away from @PGATOUR has got to be ringing alarm bells…
