Is Rickie Fowler's career on a downward spiral, or can he bounce back stronger than ever?

The 2024 season proved to be a failure for Rickie Fowler. After winning his sixth PGA Tor at the Rocket Mortgage Classic last year and getting into all the elevated events, it was expected that Fowler would continue winning this year as well. However, that was not the case. Not only that, the 35-year-old’s season went haywire as he could not card a single runner-up position, let alone a top 10 in all of the year.

As a result, Fowler missed the entire FedExCup Playoff and went on a hiatus after finishing The Open at Royal Troon at 71st. Will the 6-time PGA Tour winner tee up at the Procore Championship? The field of the event has been published and Fowler is not in it. And thus, he will continue his break from the greens and focus elsewhere.

The Rickie Fowler Tracker posted on X that it was expected that the Murrieta native may play at the Silverado Resort North Course, but that is not the case. Moreover, it was also expected that Fowler would play the ZOZO Championship in Japan following the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas at TPC Summerlin. He would also possibly miss the Sanderson Farms Championship which is held after the President Cup.

Although Fowler’s season has been anything but indifferent, there is a huge reason why he is not starting the FedExCup Fall Season early, which will make him remember the 2024 season for all the good reasons.

Despite all, Rickie Fowler’s season would still be a memorable one

In March, Rickie Fowler broke the biggest news of his season and garnered many wishes. The 6-time PGA Tour winner posted a photo with his daughter Maya and wife, Allison Fowler, on Instagram and captioned, “Maya with shoes ready for her baby sister…we’re excited to be a foursome later this summer! And the wait was over when he announced that his second daughter, Nellie Fowler, had joined the family.

Is Rickie Fowler's career on a downward spiral, or can he bounce back stronger than ever?

Have an interesting take?

He wrote another heartwarming caption on his Instagram post as he introduced Nellie to the rest of the world. Focusing on what was more important, his family rather than his game, Fowler said, My Family!! Right where I’m supposed to be. Welcome to the crew, Nellie.” So, even though the 2024 season was one of the struggling years for Fowler on the course, off of it he was enjoying his life.

And it might be the reason why he has prolonged his hiatus and will miss the Procore Championship, to spend more time with his family of four before heading out to win something in the FedExCup Fall and make the season more precious than it already is.
