Yes, you heard it right. Farmers Insurance will not be sponsoring the San Diego Farmers Insurance Open going forward in 2026. The year 2024 has surely started with a bang, and this latest news has prompted fans to think about what’s next for the PGA Tour in greater depth.

Is the PGA Tour short of sponsors after Farmers Insurance’s latest decision?
Adding their name to the likes of Wells Fargo, this recent decision by Farmers Insurance has been rather shocking for everyone in the golf world. The title sponsor of the Farmers Insurance Open is the second company to pull back from the Tour.
This happened after the new CEO of the company, Raul Vargas, took charge. It is common to see changes in top leadership reforming how a company allocates its marketing funds, but pulling back from being a title sponsor of the PGA Tour is definitely a huge decision.
Amidst confusion about the future of the merger, many sponsors have either chosen to opt out or undertake the wait-and-see approach with the Tour. This is not to say that the PGA Tour is short of sponsors, but the need for a quick decision is definitely being enforced.
