There’s more to Rickie Fowler than what he shows on the greens. Despite the former Poster Boy’s struggles on the greens this past season and his unwavering optimism in the face of these battles, he seems to be acing one thing for sure: being a dad.

Father to Maya Fowler and expecting another child, the “life-changing” role of being a father has been Fowler’s “main job” for almost three years now, and he seems to be enjoying every moment of it. In a recent life update on Instagram, Fowler shared an adorable picture with his toddler, wherein he was seen getting a dental job from possibly the most adorable (and youngest) dentist ever!

He wrote on his Instagram story, “Luckily I have a personal dentist while on the road…” making an adorable hint at the special father-daughter playtime they share even when he is involved in excruciating stress-filled weekends where he has to prove his enigma on the greens.

During his episode of Swing By with Jason Kennedy in April 2024, he referred to being a dad as his “main job.” “Seeing Maya’s reaction and how she lights up whenever she sees Allison or me, it really makes it feel like nothing else matters,” he exclaimed.

Being a girl dad is a very special feeling for Fowler. He shared how he loves it, and said, “I don’t have a boy, but my sister has twin boys, I have plenty of friends that have little boys, but I feel like there’s something with a little girl that just pulls a little harder at you.”

After all, Fowler is clear that being a father is his main job, and he is adorably standing true to being the most happy dental patient. Ever! This poster boy turned family man seems to be doing quite well for himself at TPC River Highlands as well, so far, having shot two 60-some rounds ( 64, and 69 to be precise) so far going into the weekend.

While the Travelers Championship seems to be turning in this pro’s favor so far, has the rest of the 2024 season been to his liking after a resurgent comeback at the Rocket Mortgage Classic last year?

Rickie Fowler’s 2024 rewind: budding hope or continuing disappointment?

Even though the year 2024 has not been a fairytale comeback for Fowler, he remains optimistic. Having secured only one top-20 finish at the RBC Heritage this year and being riddled with the two missed cuts in his last two outings at the Memorial Tournament pres. by Workday and the U.S. Open, Fowler’s calm composure in the face of his career turmoils this year is truly one for the books.

Delineating his mindset and baffling optimism, Fowler said, “I’m significantly closer this year from where I was a few years back. It’s just more of just a lot of disappointment, as far as knowing how close it is and not having a couple of shots go the way I thought they would, or a few putts go in and change the momentum of how the season or round had been going. It’s been a struggle, but definitely not as tough as a few years ago.”

Surely, his perspective on life and career has changed since taking on the role of a father, and he knows that at the end of the day, “it’s not that big of a deal, but we all kind of just continue to grind.” This newfound composure, along with his personal dentist on his side and a second child on the way, seems to be adding to Fowler’s play at TPC River Highlands. Don’t you think so?
