The word retirement can be scary to a lot of people but Michele Wie West has embraced it with open arms. She announced her retirement earlier this year from the world of professional golf. The American golfer had her fair share of reasons for this decision but never once did she make the word retirement seem negative or scary.

Even after retiring from the sport, she continues to keep herself busy by indulging in different types of activities. She has tried her hand at different sports like tennis and has taken vacations. However, this time, she did something completely unexpected!

Wie regularly updates her followers on what is going on in her life. She has over 600,000 followers on Instagram, which makes her one of the most followed LPGA golfers.

Recently the veteran LPGA pro shared an update on her Instagram which involved kitchen gardening. She posted a picture of her newly grown asparagus. She captioned it “OMG my first asparagus spear, this took over 6 months to grow.” 

But asparagus wasn’t her only baby on the field. She also posted a picture of some cherry tomatoes and captioned the picture, “Tomato harvest still going strong.”

Kitchen gardening is clearly something that keeps a lot of retired people busy and now the once LPGA star girl has also adopted it as a means of keeping herself busy! But while her golf career might be over, her tennis adventure has just begun!

Tennis keeping LPGA veteran occupied

The retired golfing sensation has embarked on a new sporting endeavor by taking up tennis as a hobby after her retirement. She already has made some friends within the sport, among them being Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who is the husband of tennis icon Serena Williams.

Wie has made a graceful transition to the tennis court. She showcased her skills and finesse in a video on Instagram for her followers. She playfully challenged her fans with a riddle: “If other athletes pick up golf after retirement, what sport does a retired golfer pick up?” Her witty question sparked speculation and excitement among her followers.
