A caddie’s relationship with the golfer is a tricky and crucial dynamic to handle. Often, golfers struggle to find a compatible caddie in certain phases of their careers. However, when chemistry strikes, it can establish an intense bond between the two. Sometimes it even ends in a marriage. And that is precisely what happened with one LPGA pro and her caddie!

The duo got married after having a splendid caddie-golfer relationship, and in June this year, the couple announced that they were expecting a baby. With the baby out into this bright, beautiful world of ours, it came with a nerve-wracking shocker. However, with ‘all is well that ends well’ being the main focus here, many in the golf world, including Michelle Wie West and other big stars, have joined in on their celebrations.

The Reid baby makes a scary entrance

Six-time European Tour winner Mel Reid and her wife/caddie Carly Reid, announced in June about Carly’s pregnancy. A few hours ago, Carly posted pictures of the baby on her Instagram. She also shared the complications in the baby’s health that shook them for a while, until things turned out to be fine.

The baby apparently had a tough start, requiring an NICU pit stop and all. Going from the best moment of their lives to the scariest in a short span tested Reid’s emotions severely. Kai William Reid, the seven-pound baby, took some time to learn how to breathe, it seems. He also needed some cleaning in the lungs after the stressful delivery. Despite the intense blend of euphoria and anxiety, the family feels grateful for experiencing the miracle of life.

She wrote, “Kai blew everyone away with his quick progress. he is doing amazing and seemed to turn a corner as soon as we got to hold him in our arms again. he is a fighter. we could not possibly love him more. 💙”

The date, November 8, now holds a strong significance in their lives, serving as both a cherished memory and a reminder of life’s fragility. Carly also expressed her pride and happiness over picking the strongest, bravest, most gracious, gentle, and loving partner.

Their golfer friends and fans couldn’t control their excitement either and commented on the post. They shared their joy and wished the couple and the baby a wonderful future.

The female golfers who commented in the post all sounded quite moved by the news. While this is certainly a happy update, it did come with a heavy twist.
