The 2024 season has been a roller coaster ride for Bubba Watson. But one that only goes down. The LIV golfer finished 53rd in the individual standings, which led him to the drop zone. This means he might not be able to make it to the 2025 season. While earlier, captains were exempt from relegations, this year, the breakaway league changed the rules, rendering the RangeGoats GC captain in danger of his spot.
As the season concluded, he moved his focus to the Asian Tour, trying to grab a top-10 position, which could give him the key to making it to the LIV Golf 2025 season. However, he missed it just by a few strokes. As the BNI Indonesian Masters ended on Sunday, he finished at T13, with five others. He was a whopping nine strokes behind Richard T. Lee, who clinched the trophy at the Royal Jakarta Golf Club.
Well, amid all the storms, it turns out, Bubba Watson’s family came to his rescue and tried to cheer him up. A few hours ago, he took to his official Instagram account and shared a picture of his birthday cake. On the cake, Way wrote, “You’re our GOAT”, with the RangeGoats symbol drawn on it. Well, some would regard him as the GOAT, after all, he has 2 Masters victories to his name. In the caption, he wrote, “Family made me a cake!! 🎂 🐐.” The golfer with a lifetime deal with PING turned 46 on November 5.

While this was his rainbow after the storm, despite losing the 2024 Indonesian Masters, Bubba Watson did manage to win the show with his stellar performance and, of course, a rather generous gesture in Indonesia. And that shows how true a gentleman he is.

The tournament event authorities at the 2024 BNI Indonesian Masters had pledged to donate a home to the families in need for each hole-in-one carded during the event. In the third round of the event in Jakarta, he made the entire crowd cheer for him by scoring an ace on the par-3 eleventh hole. He made the magical shot with his pitching wedges, and the ball went straight towards the green and dropped in for the cup after bouncing a few times into the 170-yard hole.

This contributed to the charity promised by the managers. But well, that was not all for the humble gesture made by Watson. In addition to the house that was already going to go to a family, the LIV Golfer even personally donated one more house on his behalf. Although he did not win the trophy, his gesture sure won the hearts of millions.
“The game of golf has helped tremendously around the world. For all the charity things that golf has brought to the table, it’s very special to be a part of that. It’s an honor and I heard there was another hole-in-one right behind me, so somebody needs to match that so there’ll be a couple families that will be helped out. So it’s an amazing thing that golf could can do that for somebody, and be able to help people,” said Watson afterward. Notably, just ten minutes later, Thailand’s Phachara Khongwatmai made an ace on the same hole, and another home was donated.
