Why even wear a glove at all while golfing? We are sure this question crosses the minds of many! The answer to this recurrent question is because wearing a glove while golfing helps in the improvement of the grip. Trying to grip the club with bare hands may ruin the shot when the golfer is trying to swing. But the main question arises, why just wear it in one hand; why not two?

Between the two hands, one is dominant and one is not. Making clean and powerful contact in golf swing involves the significant contribution of both hands. If a golfer is right-handed, they will wear the glove in their left hand because that is the hand that will absorb the most impact. It is of utmost vitality to keep the hands dry while trying to swing the club. The use of a single glove can help stabilize the golf club during the entire loading process, ensuring a strong swing. In contrast to other sports, even the slightest deviation in the golf swing can result in the ball swaying left or hooking right. Therefore, every stroke needs to be precise to maintain an optimal score.

Yes, a golfer can absolutely wear two gloves since there is no hard and fast rule about wearing a single glove. But it’s the tradition of wearing just one. In the case where a golfer already has a blister? Well, in those cases, a golfer will wear two gloves, just to avoid irritation. If it is extremely cold out, then also a golfer will have both gloves on to stay warm.

For short ranges, it is often seen that golfers take their gloves out and place them in their back pockets while they are approaching the green, it is because no gloves can help control the club better at short range. Golfers require less power in their swings as they approach the hole, which allows them avoid getting blisters. Consequently, golfers often remove one glove while making a shorter stroke.

Taking off the glove can also help with better control of the club. Golfers can achieve better ball control by removing a glove, which allows their hands to smoothly stroke the ball.

So, it can be deferred that number of gloves totally depend on the golfer or the conditions that are prevalent. It is crucial to maintain healthy and dry hands throughout the golf season if you don’t want to miss a game.
