Before one of the most awaited US Open teed off on Thursday, a lot of information surrounding it made the fans curious. This included the prize money, playing field, the world golf ranking, and more. But one detail, in particular, had arguably everyone on the edge. It was the debutant course of LACC!

The North Course, after its renovation in 2010, for the first time welcomed a golf major with open arms. But, just as expected of the majors, the course hasn’t been technically merciful. Many star golfers have been struggling to strike the ball well for two days now. One of them is the World No. 2, Jon Rahm. Due to the same, the golfer couldn’t help himself from feeling infuriated. The same was caught on the camera and fans, evidently, flocked to the comment section.

For a few players, the opening of the $20 million US Open wasn’t as ideal as they would have anticipated. Similar was the case with Jon Rahm. His first day concluded was a couple of double bogeys and it wasn’t a top-notch performance from the golfer. While Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy, and others are enjoying playing at the Los Angeles golf course, players like Rahm have grappled a bit.

The first round, in particular, of the US Open was a disaster for the talented Jon Rahm. And he seems to express a similar line of thoughts. After his game, the off-course media captured Rahm in a fit of anger. In the clip, uploaded by golf_com, the player can be witnessed hitting the sign in front of the hall with the rear end of his golf club.

Viktor Hovland and Schauffele followed him, who don’t seem much bothered by Rahm’s action. It is clear that LACC has been testing not only the skills of these professionals but also their patience levels. Jon Rahm expressing his frustration through the above action displays that the Spaniard had a tough day.

The golfer’s expectations of himself weren’t met, and it didn’t sit well with him. Maybe the second-day start would have comforted the golfer a bit as he opened the game with a brilliant eagle. Currently, he sits at T49 on the leaderboard but will be definitely looking to climb up on Saturday.

As the video of such raw emotions from Rahm got viral, it drew fans like a magnet to the comment section. Interestingly, while the viewers were mostly perplexed, there was still an amalgamation of positive and negative reactions.

The golf community reacts to Rahm’s off-course display of strong emotions

There is no doubt about the fact that the North Course has proved to be difficult. In fact, it has resulted in the exit of some of the top golfers after the cut on Friday. And no matter what, as a professional, one wants to perform his best, especially in the majors.

Hence, some of the fans understood the strong reaction from the Spanish golfer. In fact, just recently, many of them opinionated that the LACC course was not up to the mark. It made them believe that the athlete cared about the game and was serious when it comes to his performance. They commented-

“Golf is hard!!!!”

Lolol he hits a sign ….. okay … we’ve seen way worse in the other 4 major professional sports… why does the media push this narrative that golfers can’t show emotion in the heat of competition

“I love it. He’s invested”

This is so light in the world of sports frustration lol

Usually it’s F-bombs, he’s mellowed

It’s hilarious to watch passive aggressiveness

“This is uncalled for, its very frightening”

“Real classy”
