What started the dispute between the two golfers?

It all started after Jon Rahm’s reaction to the announcement of the mandatory 20 events went viral on social media. The confused response of one of the top golfers on the planet left fans wondering about the transparency between the game’s elite.

He also raised the question of how a top player like Rahm wasn’t at the center of these decisions after the unofficial meeting ahead of the recently concluded BMW Championship in Delaware, of which Jon Rahm was a part.

Westwood continued posting an array of tweets on the same issue, which prompted DP Tour golfer, Eddie Pepperell to step in.

In the world of the internet and social media, Pepperell is a gem. Despite not securing any major titles in his brief golf career so far, he has found his calling with his wit and humor on social media, which has resulted in rising popularity among golf circles.

The dispute started when Westwood claimed that the 20 ‘compulsory’ events decision must have been covered in the “strategic alliance” meeting in Delaware a fortnight ago. On this, Pepperell asked for secrecy since the details of the meeting have been uncorroborated so far.

Replying to Eddie’s tweet, Westwood questions whether he’s not allowed to express his opinion on Twitter, to which the latter agrees on the perspective but would have rather wished him to witness the whole drama from a distance.
