The desert heat continues with the second tournament of the DP World Tour’s Middle East segment, Ras Al Khaimah Championship 2025. From January 23 to January 26, Al Hamra Golf Club, a par 72 at 7, 325 yards, is decked for multiple DP World Tour stars like Rolex Series winner Paul Waring. The course, designed by Peter Harradine, is set in the northern emirate of UAE with a perfect coastal landscape.

The venue previously hosted two other golf tournaments, namely the Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge (2016,2017) and the Challenge Tour Grand Final (2018). The field promises to have quite an interesting lineup, including Thorbjon Olesen, Ryan Fox, and Thomas Pieters.  The event is set to broadcast on the Golf Channel with the first 3 rounds starting at 3:30 A.M. (EST). But besides all that, fans are yearning to know what’s in it for the prize pot. what’s the big win?

This year, the golfers are battling it out for a familiar prize purse of $2.5 million, 3,500 Race To Dubai points, and 1,000 Ryder Cup points. Out of this grand total, the winner will take home $425,000 while $275,000 is set for the runner-up. The sum is a $500,000 boost from the initial two years of Ras Al Khaimah Championship’s $2 million purse, as per GolfMonthly. Here’s the complete prize money breakdown.

Who can win the 2025 Ras Al Khaimah Championship?

For 2025, New Zealander Ryan Fox will be back after two years since his 2022 Ras Al Khaimah Classic victory to play aside Majors champions, Padraig Harrington, Jimmy Walker, and Patrick Reed. Tyrrell Hatton seems ahead of the event, carrying his Hero Dubai Desert Classic victory and ranking lead. Rory McIlroy, who was anticipating a hattrick win at the Dubai Desert Classic earlier this month, backed up on the performance of Tyrrell Hatton at the Emirates Golf Club earlier this week. Calling him a “massive asset for the Europeans,” McIlroy stated consistency, and straight swings as the key to Hatton’s success. as per GolfMonthly.
