The USGA is based in the United States, while the R&A is in England. Notably, apart from looking after the rules and regulations of the game, they even share other aspects about golf and try to bust the myths. And recently, the R&A shared how golf is beneficial for both physical and mental health.

Health benefits of playing golf

We all know the popularity of golf as a leisure game across the world. And since there is no age limit, even a four-year-old or a 90-year-old can play the sport. Hence, we see plenty of people every year taking up the game. Recently, the R&A has published the health benefits of playing this sport to spread awareness.

The chief executive of The R&A, Martin Slumbers, said, “The scientific research clearly shows that there are significant physical and mental health benefits to be gained from playing golf. We believe that golf can provide a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to have fun, get fit and socialize with family and friends.”
