After a successful conclusion to the 2023 LA Championship, the LPGA Tour will continue with the 2023 Cognizant Founders Cup the following week. On Thursday, May 11, the competition will get underway at the Upper Montclair Country Club, which is located in Clifton, New Jersey. The Cognizant Founders Cup has a group of 144 golfers, including 34 of the top 50 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking. Her motivational and mesmerizing tale all began a decade ago with the Big Sky Conference Championships in 2013. It was with a win there that Crawford got her push to be a golfer. “I won Big Sky Conference Championships in 2013 and I still have the record for that,” she stated proudly.

Following her graduation, she began playing mini-tours. In her words, they were “really expensive” and she “didn’t have the funds.” But fortunately, her parents supported her and helped her out financially. Although that too was certainly not enough. She added, “I was playing like, four or five tournaments a year at the most.”

All this while Crawford wan’t just looking after herself but also helping her sister and taking care of her nephew, who is now 14 years old. She worked some odd jobs at a climbing gym as a customer service specialist and as a food delivery driver at DoorDash to take care of her family and save some money.

According to her, many girls her age stopped playing because of a lack of support. But, she just couldn’t! And that was a good thing, for soon she found her lucky break. “Luckily I went to Florida and played in the match play event,” she stated. The fates smiled upon her when she found a sponsor there who supported her so that she could continue her golfing career.

“It’s really amazing,” she added, talking about starting her full-time professional golf journey that began last year. “I’m so grateful for this opportunity.”
