The Professional Long Drivers Association (PLDA) World Championship is back this year. This year, the event is taking place at the Mesquite Sports and Events Complex in Mesquite, NV. Like all other sports in the world, the COVID-19 pandemic also affected the PLDA World Championships.

However, the event is back and the highlight this year is PGA Tour star Bryson DeChambeau’s participation.

DeChambeau will be facing other players like Kyle Berkshire and Justin James, both of whom have won world championships.

PLDA World Championships schedule for the remaining two days

Open Division–Wednesday, 9/29

Open Division–Friday, 10/1

For the final showdown on Friday, the Top 8 finishers will be segregated into two groups of four. Then, the top two from those groups will eventually move on to a group of top four. Out of those, only the top two will advance, facing off in a one-on-one match to win the PLDA World Championship.

Bryson DeChambeau is a clear focus for this year’s tournament and the 28-year-old is already wowing everyone with his game. “I felt like I just won something today. I won a big PGA tournament, even though I just qualified for the next day because it’s my first time,” DeChambeau said following his first-round in Mesquite.

We then have Berkshire, who will be aiming to win his consecutive World Championship. “You can never guarantee a win, but I feel very confident about my chances,” Berkshire said ahead of the event. “I feel like I’ve done pretty much everything I can to prepare myself to have the best chance of a positive outcome”. 

Where to watch the ongoing PLDA World Championship?

Fans will not be able to watch the 2021 Professional Long Drivers Association’s World Championship on television. However, fans will be able to watch their players easily on PLDA’s YouTube channel, which will live stream the event. While fans can track the scores and standings on the PLDA’s official site.
