PGA Tour is doing well in the 2025 season with no possible controversies coming their way, or so one would think. So, the 2025 Valspar Championship is just around the corner and is taking place from March 17 to 23 at the beautiful Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida. Well, nothing unusual with that, however, recently some inside scoop of the tournament has come out and well, things do not look good for Jay Monahan and Co.

In a recent YouTube by No Laying Up Podcast, PGA Tour player Keith Mitchell revealed some interesting and concerning things about the Valspar Championship, and well, you sure don’t want to miss this one. While the golfer does have a special place in his heart for the tournament and has played the tournament quite a few times, he still has one complaint. “I love that golf tournament…but the player food is everything but unedible, okay?” he said.

I swear, worst food ever…I’m not kidding you, some of the quotes that people have said walking out of there, I was like, ‘prison food.” He also elaborated on the fact that only a few people choose to eat in and the dining area is often deserted and said, “There’s like four people that eat lunch the whole week.” However, Mitchell did offer some praise for the local coffee shop, which he dubs the “best coffee shop of the year.”

How did Keith Mitchell perform at the 2024 Valspar Championship?

Keith Mitchell had a thrilling run at the 2024 Valspar Championship but ultimately fell short of taking home the trophy. He led the pack after 54 holes, but Peter Malnati’s impressive final-round performance stole the show. Mitchell’s 4-under-par score wasn’t enough to catch Malnati, who finished with a 12-under 272. Malnati’s victory was a long time coming, and he was overcome with emotion as he celebrated with his family.

“You wonder if you’re ever going to do it again,” Malnati said, holding back tears. “That’s something that I’ve seen other families have, and that has been my dream. If I had never had the moment I had today, I would have been completely fine. But, man, was that special.”
