After an enthralling Senior PGA Championship showdown at the Harbour Shore Country Club, the PGA Tour Champions golfer returns to play at the Wakonda Club Des Moines in Iowa. The Principal Charity Classic, unlike the traditional PGA Tour Champions tournament, will be played over only three days.
Thus, it will be soon coming to an end, crowning the 2024 winner. What will be the reward for the winner rising on the top among the 78 players’ field? The winner will get $300,000, which is the usual 15% cut from the total prize money. The prize purse is $2 million for the 2024 Principal Charity Classic.
The winner will also get 300,000 points for the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup standings. Will there be any Official World ranking Points at stake? Unfortunately, no. Since the Principal Charity Classic will be played for only 54 holes, the OWGR will not grant any ranking points.

Four hospitals are associated with Principal Charity, the Blank Children’s Hospital, MercyOne Children’s Hospital, United Way of Central Iowa, and Variety, the Children’s Charity of Iowa. Primarily, the funds raised from the event go to these three hospitals and are then distributed among others.
Every year, more than 130,000 kids enjoy the benefits offered by the Principal charity, and this year, the event has returned with a goal to raise $8 million in funds. At the newly renovated Wakonda, everyone will be taking home a fair share of the Principal Charity Classic!
